Luxembourg-headquartered SPI Group has acquired the Arinzano winery. The Spanish estate will now form part of SPI’s new luxury wine division, HEW Holding.
The Señorio de Arínzano estate dates back to the 11th century and is located in the north east of Spain, between Rioja and Bordeaux, and produces PAGO classified wine [Vino de Pago wine regions aspire to the highest standards with ultra-strict geographical criteria, focused on single estates with an international reputation].
Arinzano joins a select group in SPI’s HEW Holding division. These are the Achaval Ferrer from Mendoza, Argentina and Italian estates Tenuta dell’Ornellaia, Castel Giocondo and Luce della Vite, the latter a joint-venture with Marchesi de’Frescobaldi and Californian wine producer Michael Mondavi.
SPI Group CEO Alexey Oliynik said: “It is this clear heritage and commitment to quality that makes Arinzano such a great fit with the brands of SPI Group. With this impressive and expanding division of our business, SPI Group is delighted to create HEW Holding to spearhead future growth within our wine portfolio.”
