SSP America brings Guy Fieri’s flair to Newark Liberty Airport with Flavortown Kitchen + Bar

SSP brings Guy Fieri’s signature dishes to travellers at Newark Liberty Airport through the opening of Flavortown Kitchen + Bar  

USA. SSP America has teamed up with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to open Flavortown Kitchen + Bar by celebrity chef Guy Fieri at Newark Liberty International Airport Terminal A.

Offering Guy Fieri’s original dishes, the concept joins the diverse array of dining options at the airport and represents a Sense of Place.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Chairman Kevin O’Toole said: “We’ve welcomed countless dignitaries through our world-class airports, but nothing compares to the arrival of the Mayor of Flavortown himself, Guy Fieri.

“We’re proud to be rollin’ out with one of the culinary world’s most respected and well-liked figures as we add to the unique offerings and experiences on tap at Terminal A.”

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Executive Director Rick Cotton added: “The addition of the Flavortown Kitchen + Bar to Terminal A underscores our effort to bring passengers exciting amenities and dining options to complement this stunning, award-winning new terminal.

“Guy’s bold and hearty offerings pair perfectly with Terminal A, as we dish up a streamlined, state-of-the-art travelling experience with a side of distinctive architecture, diverse dining and magnificent local art.”

Guy Fieri commented: “I’m very proud to have partnered with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and SSP America to bring Flavortown Kitchen + Bar to the bar-raising new Terminal A at Newark Liberty Airport.

“This makes EWR our official hub and we are ready and welcoming all passengers on their trip to Flavortown.”

The menu includes Guy Fieri’s popular Ain’t No Thing Butta Chicken Wing (middle), Bacon Mac and Cheese Burger  and Crispy Chicken Tenders

Food Network culinary star and restaurateur Guy Fiery 

A well-known celebrity chef, restaurateur, television presenter and author, Fieri’s rise to fame started after winning the second season of reality TV show Food Network Star in 2006.

The influential culinary star has also become a philanthropic leader, raising tens of millions of dollars for first responders and hospitality workers. He has established the Guy Fieri Foundation to support literacy and culinary education for children and adults.

The Flavortown Kitchen + Bar features bright and colourful interiors

The Flavortown Kitchen brand started as a ghost kitchen concept called Flavortown, inspired by the Food Network’s widely popular Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives show hosted by Fieri.

The full-service restaurant and bar features an all-day menu that includes Fieri’s popular offerings Trash Can Nachos, Ain’t No Thing Butta Chicken Wing and Motley Que Pulled Pork Sandwich.

The design evokes the celebrity chef’s exuberant personality, combined with a local industrial vibe. The space unfolds around a large bar surrounded by seating areas.

The triple-height space above the restaurant is bordered by an oversized Flavortown illuminated sign which can be spotted from throughout the terminal.

Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen + Bar joins 53 unique and diverse dining venues at Terminal A, including six locally owned and operated concessionaires from the nearby communities of Newark, Elizabeth and Jersey City.

The new terminal recently celebrated its one-year anniversary, serving 15 million passengers in its first year and collecting a multitude of awards including the prestigious Prix Versailles Special Prize from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.  ‍
