UK. SSP has opened two outlets at Cardiff Airport. These are premium pub concept The Beer House and coffee shop Ritazza.
The Beer House concept puts a particular focus on the region it serves, according to SSP. The Cardiff Airport menu makes use of locally sourced ingredients and includes Welsh beef burgers alongside other local dishes such as Welsh Rarebit.
The menu is complemented by a selection of local craft ales from Welsh breweries, including Tiny Rebel and Brains.
Themed decorations are featured and The Beer House’s walls are adorned with images of landmarks in Cardiff and Wales.
Ritazza serves coffee and light bites and the brand is inspired by cosmopolitan and multicultural European café culture, SSP noted.
SSP UK CEO Simon Smith said: “The Beer House and Ritazza are great brands that have real resonance with the travelling consumer. We have been working with the team here at Cardiff Airport since 2002, and we are delighted to be building on this long and successful relationship.”
Cardiff Airport Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer Debra Barber commented: “We’ve been making significant improvements to the overall customer experience for some time now, and the addition of these new facilities really complements the terminal’s offering.
“I’m sure passengers will like the food and drinks now on offer and will enjoy sampling some iconic Welsh products at Wales’ national airport.”
