HAINAN, CHINA. Japanese cosmetics brand SUQQU has opened a standalone boutique at the Hainan Tourism Duty Free Shopping Complex in Sanya, the brand’s first in Hainan. The shopping complex is operated by Hainan Tourism Investment Duty Free Co (HTDF).
The opening is an important step in SUQQU’s global travel retail expansion, adding a new jewel in HTDF’s beauty offer. The official opening ceremony was held today (17 December) and attended by representatives from HTDF and SUQQU, alongside members of the media and invited guests.
Known for its ‘Radiant Aesthetics’ philosophy, SUQQU is a multi-axis prestige beauty brand with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, performance and sensoriality.
The brand is known for its colour cosmetics, including foundation, eyeshadow and blush with hero products featuring the Cream Foundation, Blurring Colour Blush and Signature Colour Eyes. Its skincare range, centred on the signature Gankin Massage, is particularly popular among younger consumers, SUQQU said.

According to SUQQU, the Hainan debut underscores its ambition to drive deeper engagement with Chinese consumers. The cosmetics company added that its focus on radiance, colour and texture aligns with evolving consumer preferences for elevated, lifestyle-led beauty experiences.
The HTDF Shopping Complex continues to strengthen its offer by introducing international brands that resonate with modern, experience-driven shoppers.
The retailer said that further brand launches are planned throughout the year as part of its commitment to creating a dynamic offshore duty-free environment, underpinned by the pillars of experience, convenience and discovery.

Looking ahead, HTDF and SUQQU plan to build on the launch by deepening their partnership with a shared focus on product experience, customer service and inspiring beauty-led retail moments.
SUQQU was established by Kanebo in 2003 and is now owned by Kao Beauty Brands. It operates more than 60 stores globally in Japan, the UK, France and Asia Pacific. The name SUQQU was inspired by the Japanese expression of ‘a woman rising to her full height’. 🏝️
