The Lakes Distillery showcases travel retail-exclusive single malt at TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes

The Lakes Ascent combines a complex flavour with premium packaging, enhancing its appeal to whisky collectors

FRANCE. The Lakes Distillery has unveiled its latest global travel retail offer, The Lakes Ascent single malt whisky, at the ongoing TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.

Enhancing the brand’s exclusive travel retail line-up, the expression showcases The Lakes’ pioneering élevage techniques, delivering a complex flavour profile.

This whisky is matured in a combination of European and American oak casks, including sherry, red wine and bourbon barrels, before being finished in first-fill oloroso sherry casks. The result is a dark, rich and complex spirit with notes of fragrant fruit, lingering spice and a decadent, aged bouquet.

The Lakes Ascent single malt reinforces the brand’s travel retail focus, targeting discerning international consumers seeking more distinctive single malt offerings.

This latest release builds on the 2024 launch of The Lakes Boundless single malt, which earned Gold at the 2025 International Spirits Challenge, and Silver (90 points) at the 2025 International Wine & Spirit Competition. Boundless is now listed with Avolta.
