The Lakes Distillery to spotlight travel retail-exclusive Boundless whisky at TFWA World Exhibition

The Lakes Distillery, represented by Duty Free Global in travel retail, is set to launch a channel-exclusive single malt whisky: Boundless. 

The expression will be available from 29 September at select duty-free locations across Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.  

Boundless represents the first in a series of travel retail exclusives from The Lakes

Boundless will be showcased at the Duty Free Global stand (Green Village J35) at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.

Matured in first-fill oloroso sherry-seasoned oak casks, the whisky is crafted through the art of élevage. 

The Lakes Whisky Maker Sarah Burgess commented: “For the first time at The Lakes, we have selected only the finest first-fill oloroso casks to shape Boundless’ maturation. It is rich and full-bodied; think baked fruits, plums and indulgent walnuts.  

“Traditionally, our whisky is influenced by a variety of sherry-seasoned casks but for this travel retail exclusive, we focused solely on oloroso – the backbone of The Lakes Single Malt Whisky.  

“Using the élevage technique, we have elevated the whisky’s flavour profile. Combining European and American oak, we have created a complex and bold single malt that encourages exploration and wonder. 

“With nuances of orange oil and dried fruits from the European oak, layered with delicate wood spice, toasted oak and subtle notes of vanilla from the American oak, Boundless represents our ambition to push boundaries.  

“We are thrilled to partner with Duty Free Global to bring this special whisky to the travel retail market.”
