INDONESIA. HMSHost has hailed the success of the Djournal Coffee shop at Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport at this year’s Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) Conference & Awards.
The Terminal 3 outlet was named Regional Winner (Asia Pacific) Airport Coffee, Tea, Non-alcoholic Beverage Shop of the Year.

HMSHost Indonesia, an HMSHost International subsidiary, started operations in Indonesia in 2013 with nine F&B concepts at Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport. It operates 12 outlets at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal 3.
Djournal Coffee opened in 2017 in collaboration with lifestyle and hospitality company Ismaya Group. The outlet, which takes its name from an earlier spelling of Jakarta, offers a wide selection of local coffee blends.
Speaking at a celebratory event marking Djournal Coffee’s sucess at the FAB awards, HMSHost International CEO Walter Seib said: “HMSHost wants people to feel good on the move. It’s in our DNA to continuously look for ways to improve the traveller’s journey with genuine hospitality and high-quality food.
“I am proud of the team and congratulate them on this fine achievement and recognition for their efforts in delivering in this outstanding service.”

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Senior Manager of Legal & Branch Communication Erwin Revianto congratulated the Djournal team and described the FAB award as a “well-deserved honour”.
“In marketing terms, having a strong point of difference in your brand is a major advantage. Djournal Coffee has become one of the best coffee spot recommendations for caffeine hunters in Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal 3 by its Indonesian coffee blend and passionate humble service, making it as the perfect home away from home,” he said.

Ismaya Group Marketing Director Frans Widjaja added: “As a local company, we are very proud to share the best taste of Indonesian coffee to not only the locals, but also the world travellers.
“The name ‘Djournal’ itself has its own story to tell. Coming from the earlier name of the capital, Djakarta, Djournal embraces the historical part of Indonesian culture through its name. Just like a journal that you wanted to keep and record every day, Djournal Coffee wants to be part of your daily journey. We are hoping that Djournal Coffee reminds each visitor of the goodness Indonesia has to offer.”
