The Secret Garden Distillery in Edinburgh, Scotland, has unveiled a new look for its Seasonal Edition Christmas Gin and gifting range.
Christmas Gin features a red tinted bottle and distinctive label made from 30% grass. It is the first product from The Secret Garden Distillery’s Seasonal Edition and will be available in domestic markets and in travel retail for a limited period.
According to the distiller, its Seasonal Edition underlines the brand’s ‘rooted in nature’ ethos. The range aims to “capture the essence of the season, exploring flavours, scents and seasonal plants”.
Christmas Gin, which includes freshly distilled cinnamon, ginger and cardamom, and has notes of Christmas cake, is described as rich and spicy. Serving suggestions include over ice, with tonic and an orange garnish, and a Christmas Gin punch.
The Secret Garden Distillery Founder and Head Gardener Hamish Martin said: “Our new seasonal range is inspired by nature, just as the seasons change, so do the scents and flavours.
“Christmas Gin is a delight to make; it fills the senses with all the flavours you associate with Christmas and balances so well with our base botanicals of Juniper, coriander, angelica root and winter savory. It really is Christmas in a glass.”
The seasonal offering is available in 50cl (RRP £36.95, US$44) and 20cl (£16.95, US$20) bottles. A 2 x 20cl gift pack (£29.95, US$35), featuring The Secret Garden Distillery Christmas Gin and Wild Gin, made with organic spirit, is also available.
The distillery’s gifting range also includes two 2 x 20cl packs: Floral Gin, containing The Secret Garden Apothecary Rose Gin and Elderflower & Jasmine Gin, and Traditional Gin with The Secret Garden Lemon Verbena Gin and Wild Gin.
A 3 x 5cl gift pack contains The Secret Garden Lemon Verbena Gin, Apothecary Rose Gin, Elderflower & Jasmine Gin and a rose petal garnish.
The Secret Garden Distillery Managing Director André de Almeida commented: “I am excited to unveil the new look for our Christmas Gin and our full gifting range from The Secret Garden Distillery.
“We know that consumers like to experiment across the gin category and share new products with friends. Our gifting range has been tailored to offer the perfect gift solution for any occasion. We look forward to working with existing partners and new customers to bring the new Christmas Gin to consumers in the UK and abroad during the festive season.”
In line with a recent rebranding, the new Christmas Gin and gift packs feature labels made from 30% grass.
According to The Secret Garden Distillery, this ensures that during the paper production process, energy consumption is reduced by -97%, water consumption by -99% and -20% less CO2 is produced.
The distillery also underlines its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint by using a biodegradable security seal, which is made from polylactic acid while all shipping materials consist of paper which is FSCS approved and recyclable.
The Old Curiosity Distillery was founded on the outskirts of Edinburgh by entrepreneur and herbologist Hamish Martin in 2017. It was renamed The Secret Garden Distillery earlier this year. It boasts its own gin botanical garden – the Secret Herb Garden – with over 600 naturally and sustainably grown herbs and plants including a wide range of junipers, angelicas and a dedicated apothecary rose garden. The garden is maintained without the use of chemicals. Botanicals are dried naturally at 37 degrees, distilled and bottled at 39% ABV to offer a range of gins which are naturally flavoured, with no added sugars, artificial colourings, flavourings or additives. |
