
AUSTRALIA. Hobart Airport has partnered with LagardèreAWPL to launch Purely Tasmania, a hybrid retail format spotlighting local producers, including Sullivans Cove, Van Diemens Land Creamery, Richmond Botanicals and Lark Distilling.
Showcasing “the very best of Tasmania”, the concept combines a guided tasting experience with a curated retail offer of regional merchandise, complemented by a dine-in setting serving local wines, beers, spirits and locally sourced produce ahead of departure.

Located in the Departures area, the store is the second to open at the airport and forms part of the A$200 million terminal upgrade, which will increase the food & beverage offer from five to nine outlets, and the retail portfolio from three to seven stores.
Spanning 248sq m, the space is tailored to the airport environment, incorporating warm timber finishes, custom joinery and a central bar and tasting area, enhnaced by curated retail displays to enable smooth passenger flow and an authentic sense of place.

Hobart Airport Chief Financial and Commercial Officer Kate Gillies said, “Purely Tasmania is a wonderful showcase of our island, its makers and our quality produce, featuring whisky, gin, wine, cheese, fudge and honey, alongside a curated tasting menu starring regional ingredients.
“In partnership with store operator LagardèreAWPL and local suppliers, we’re excited to see it come to life, giving travellers a memorable final taste of Tasmania.
“This is all part of our A$200 million terminal upgrade, giving travellers more space and more choice while supporting more direct Tasmanian jobs and employment through our brand partners.”

Key opening highlights include the travel retail debut of the Sullivan’s Cove whisky collection.
