SWITZERLAND. Kit Kat and Cailler will be the focus of the 2006 new product line-up for Nestlé International Travel Retail (NITR) at the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas this year (Booth number: 2227).
Since the products were introduced at TFWA World Exhibition in November, NITR has been delighted by customer response.
NITR Regional Sales Manager Jean-Michel Juin said: “We are even more thrilled at winning two DFNI highly commended awards, one in the Best Product of the Year category, for the Kit Kat Computer Kit, and one in the Best Marketing Campaign, for our Cailler promotion.”
New KIT KAT products
Developed following consumer research, Kit Kat offers four new presentations and a limited-edition pack for 2006:
Kit Kat Variety Gift Pack: Described as ideal for teenagers, the new travel retail exclusive gift pack contains three assorted flavours of Kit Kat Chunky: two bars each of Kit Kat milk, white and new Kit Kat peanut butter. Ideal for informal gifting, the pack joins the existing Kit Kat and Kit Kat White packs.
Kit Kat Computer Kit: Aimed at teenagers, Kit Kat’s new travel retail exclusive Computer Kit comprises a red Kit Kat translucent mouse; a CD compilation of six fun computer games which are instant, easy to download and play; a “˜Have a Break’ mouse mat; and eight Kit Kat Chunky Bars.
Kit Kat Chunky Minis + Jenga: Targeted at families and travelling groups, the fun travel retail exclusive contains 20 Kit Kat Chunky minis and a 39-piece wooden Jenga dexterity game from Hasbro. There is a ribbon handle incorporated into the lid making it easy to carry.
Kit Kat Pop Choc: Created in response to consumer demand for smaller portions for snacking, each recloseable bag contains 140g of crispy wafer bite-size Kit Kat pieces covered in milk chocolate. Billed as easy to merchandise and display with strong on-shelf impact, the bag can be hung or stood on the shelf.
Kit Kat Chunky Mega Pack – Free Mini Footbal Limited Edition: A limited-edition Kit Kat Mega pack containing 12 bars. The pack has a detachable top box containing a free Mini football, to coincide with the World Cup competition. The product is only available for a limited time.
New CAILLER products
A highlight of NITR’s research was the growing trend for dark chocolate and the love of receiving it as a gift. Two Cailler dark chocolate products have been developed to meet this trend.

Cailler Fine Dark Chocolate Squares: The 188g box contains wrapped squares of 70% cocoa dark chocolate. Cailler’s dark chocolate recipes use cocoa beans from three sources: Equador, the Ivory Coast and Ghana. Each item is wrapped, guaranteeing that each piece is protected.
Cailler Fine Dark Chocolate Selection: The 200g box contains an exclusive assortment of dark pralines. The 22-piece assortment includes Viennois, coffee-flavoured confiseur cream in a dark chocolate shell; Paradiso, praline with hazelnuts and almonds coated with dark chocolate; Sapho, praline with hazelnut pieces and dark chocolate; Soufflée Orange, orange flavoured dark chocolate with crispy orange pieces; Coquillage Noir, a dark truffle paste with caramelised cocoa pieces in a dark chocolate cone; and Arabesque, dark truffle paste covered with dark chocolate and decorated with white arabesques.
New SMARTIES products
The latest lines from the Smarties brand includes two new Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty dispensers and a Smarties pencil case. The Lion brand features a new Minis Sharing Pack and Pop Choc recloseable bag.
In addition, the full range of Nestlé bars will also be on show, along with favourites from brands After Eight, Baci and Quality Street.
