Toronto’s state-of-the-art terminal opens for business

CANADA. The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) unveils the first phase of the C$4.1 billion (US$3.1 billion) redevelopment of Toronto Pearson International Airport today.

This extraordinary project involved the creation of a new airport around the day-to-day functioning of the old one. GTAA’s Terminal Development Project will eventually replace the existing terminals with one unified terminal which will accommodate up to 50 million passengers – almost double its existing capacity.

The new T1 includes a range of food and beverage and retail concessions, all reflecting the strong Toronto theme that is a unique feature of the development – and of the tender process that led up to it.

The Moodie Report March print issue included a special report on the new airport. To access the story click here
