SPAIN. Colour dominates the 2006 jewellery collection from Spanish jewellery and accessories brand Tous, known for its understated elegance and signature teddy bear motif.

The Eastern influence figures prominently in lines such as Angkor, Shiva, Camboya and Tibet Dolce.
Shiva and Angkor combine gold with brown leather in the bracelet, ring and earrings for an opulent Indo-Chinese feel.
The Indo-Chinese theme is further explored in the Camboya line, where silver is used to accentuate the chunkiness and the patterns etched onto the bangle and the pendant.
Colourful stones on gold and leather make up the Kaos and Tibet Dolce lines. Using similar materials, but in a more Mediterranean fashion, the Gemstone Flowers and Garabato lines marry silver, gold and leather with opaque and shiny gemstones.
The company tones down the opulence for its premium lines with classic round shapes, simple abstract curves and pale colours to achieve a refined look.

Gold is used in neat, clean designs, while silver achieves a look of understated elegance.
White and pale-coloured gemstones such as diamonds are set on simple round rings and bracelets. Fresh water and South Sea pearls are combined mainly with silver. Gold is used sparingly.
Tous also uses horn and leather for gold pieces such as the horn bangle and the Universo charm necklace.
All items feature the Tous teddy bear, a creation of Rosa Oriol de Tous, the wife of owner Salvador Tous.
A 20th anniversary edition of the company’s silver teddy bear pendants, engraved with the words “Happy 20th Anniversary Tous”, is now available in Spanish duty free stores.
The bear is used across all the jewellery lines for women, men and children in gold, silver and beads, paired with diamonds, pearls, stones, ribbon or leather.
Motifs such as roses, puppy feet, leaves, cars, cut-out figures and crosses are also available.
Tous jewellery is made from 18ct gold (750/1000) and sterling silver (925/1000).
About Tous
Tous was established in Manresa, Spain, in 1920. Although not sold in some parts of Northern Europe, the brand has a duty free and domestic presence throughout Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, France, Latin America, North America and Asia Pacific.
The brand was introduced to duty free at TFWA in Cannes last year via its new fragrance, designed by Perfumes y Diseño, the fragrance house of Spanish brand J. del Pozo.
Co-owners and principal designers Salvador and Rosa Oriol de Tous spearhead the creative direction of the house, supported by their four daughters, Rosa, Alba, Laura and Marta. The brand is known for its quirky, light-hearted designs.
