WHSmith North America expands Salt Lake City International Airport offer with three retail concepts

USA. WHSmith North America has unveiled a trio of retail concepts at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).

Located inside Concourse B, the openings include Travel+Right, Weller Book Works and Cotopaxi.

Travel+Right offers an array of health and wellness products, travel accessories, food and beverage, apparel and more.

Evoking a strong sense of place, Travel+Right presents travellers with locally crafted souvenirs and Utah-branded merchandise

The brand was developed by ACDBE partner Airport Retail Group, with a focus on conscious choices, from design to product offerings. Based on insights into travel behaviour and motivations, it is built on four pillars – hyper-local offerings, healthy choices, sustainability and giving back.

Airport Retail Group Founder Pady Regnier said: “We are thrilled to be opening our first Travel+Right travel essentials store in SLC’s beautiful new concourse B with our partner WHSmith North America. Travel+Right features local and regional grab-and-go food, snacks and gifts, as well as an opportunity for travellers and locals to participate in a Giveback programme benefitting the Utah Food Bank.”

Founded in 1929, family-owned Weller Book Works is one of Salt Lake City’s most renowned bookstores, offering an extensive selection of new, used and rare books.

Cotopaxi is a one-stop shop for responsibly made outdoor gear, apparel, packs and more. Named after one of the world’s highest active volcanoes in Ecuador, the brand captures the essence of outdoor adventure while highlighting ethical practices centred on sustainability, workers’ rights and poverty reduction.

Travellers can choose from a wide array of Utah-inspired gifts and travel essentials at Travel+Right

WHSmith North America CEO Toby Keir said: “These stores represent what we strive for as a company, which is a deep understanding of the traveller’s needs in each distinct market, as well as highlighting the local businesses that are essential to these cities.

“We are grateful to the team at SLC and all our partners who helped bring these stores to life. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for these fruitful partnerships.”

The openings were celebrated last week (22 October) by WHSmith North America representatives including VP of Operations Central Brian Griffin and other airport officials and local partners.

With the opening of these three stores, the travel retailer now operates 11 stores around the airport, including @ease, Public Market and The Utah Jazz Team Store. ✈
