UK. High-speed railway service Eurostar has said a World Duty Free store will open in its departure lounge at London St Pancras International station in early 2018.
The Dufry-operated store will be joined in departures by a Pret A Manger shop, Eurostar said.
Eurostar yesterday (14 November) marked the ten-year anniversary of relocating to St Pancras International from Waterloo station. It said improved station facilities and reduced journey times had supported +25% passenger growth in that time, from eight to ten million.
The company noted that eGates (electronic entry gates) had been installed this year to further speed-up the security process.
Eurostar Chief Executive Officer Nicolas Petrovic commented: “The move to St Pancras International ten years ago reduced journey times by over 20 minutes, making Eurostar even more attractive to business and leisure travellers.
“With continuing investment in our trains, stations and service, customers are increasingly choosing high-speed rail over plane to a range of destinations.”
