Zurich Airport posts marginal rise in ten-month commercial sales

The recent Best of Switzerland campaign offered a fine showcase for the country in the airside commercial zone

SWITZERLAND. Zurich Airport retail and dining turnover reached CHF530.6 million (US$664 million) in the first ten months of 2025, up by +0.3%% compared to the same period last year. Airside sales climbed +2.9% but landside sales fell -3.3%.

The figures were outpaced by passenger traffic growth of +4% year-on-year to 27.7 million in the year to 31 October.

Airside spend per departing passenger in the nine-month period fell -1% year-on-year to CHF22.80 (US$28.53).

In October alone, commercial turnover grew by +4.8% to CHF58.3 million (US$72.96 million) while average spend climbed +1% year-on-year in the month to CHF22.70 (US$28.40).

The commercial numbers lagged passenger traffic growth of +6.7% in the month, with volumes reaching 3.16 million.
