HMSHost renews three key US airport contracts – 28/09/07

US. HMSHost has secured three food & beverage contract renewals at key US airports, expected to be worth US$450 million in sales over the extended periods.

At Palm Beach International Airport the company has agreed a new 10-year deal, taking it from 2014 to 2024. The business is estimated at US$275 million over the ten years. HMSHost and partner Tarra Enterprise operate 13 outlets under their joint venture. New food & beverage locations will be built by the end of summer 2008 as part of a terminal development. Palm Beach has passenger traffic of over 6 million people a year.

At Sacramento International, an extra seven years (five plus two optional) will be worth US$128 million in sales, said the company. The new contract takes it from this year to 2014. There will be 20 points of sale, new and renovated. Sacramento is served by the top 14 US airlines and handled 10 million passengers last year.

And at Sarasota-Bradenton International, where HMSHost has gained a contract through to 2022, sales are expected to be worth US$49 million. Several new outlets will open in 2008. The Florida airport is one of the fastest growing in the US with over 1 million passengers a year.
