SINGAPORE/CHINA. Changi Airport Group this week announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Beijing Capital International Airport.
The “˜sister airports’ arrangement was signed in Beijing by Changi Airport Group Chief Executive Officer Lee Seow Hiang, and Beijing Capital International Airport President and Chief Executive Officer Dong Zhiyi.
In an increasingly competitive airport industry, the partnership provides a framework for both parties to share information and knowledge, and to strengthen their relationship for mutual benefit, Changi Airport Group said.
Under the MOU, the two airports will collaborate through joint projects, seminars and staff training in areas including airport management, air hub development, airport planning, commercial management and service quality evaluation. The exchange of secondees for on-the-job training is also envisaged.
Lee said: “Beijing Capital International Airport is an important hub airport and a key gateway to China. Both Changi and Beijing Capital International Airport have much in common, including shared philosophies and beliefs in providing exceptional service and developing their air hubs.
“We believe this MOU sets a good foundation for Changi and Beijing Capital International Airport to build upon and we look forward to closer collaboration with our Beijing counterpart.”
