MALAYSIA. Malaysia Airports has launched a major World Cup promotional campaign at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), with big shopping and dining discounts plus giveaways and prize draws.
The campaign, titled “˜Let’s All Football’, runs from 11 June to 11 July at the airport, and targets travellers and airport visitors at the main terminal and the low-cost carrier terminal (LCCT). The terminals are bedecked with the colours of the participating teams plus the airport is showing live matches on big screens.
The so-called “˜Kick-Off Zones’ are located at the Stage Area, Level 5, Main Terminal Building and the Sports Lounge, Satellite Building at KLIA as well as the Public Concourse at the LCCT-KLIA.

Malaysia Airports said: “In addition to the activities and games, there will be fabulous giveaways as well as FIFA World Cup 2010 merchandise sales. The celebrative atmosphere is further enhanced with attractive sales promotions of gifts with purchases, purchases with purchases and discounts up to -40% for products ranging from high fashion to premium sports and luggage brands, exquisite jewellery, accessories, perfumes and cosmetics and chocolates at KLIA and LCCT-KLIA.”
The promotion extends to the food & beverage areas too. Among the specially created offerings are Kick-Off Lamb Casserole, Captain’s Choice of Smoked Salmon Sandwich, Extra Time Special Lamb Shank and Champion’s Favourite Mixed Grill.
Visitors and travellers who shop and dine with a minimum spend of RM50.00 and above can participate in the Kick-Off Zone Football Count Contest. Contestants with the correct number of balls stand a chance to win prizes, which include a Grand Prize of a Sony Bravia 40 inch LCD TV and a Sony DVD Home Theatre System. The winner of first prize will walk away with a Sony High Definition Handycam and the second prize winner will receive a Sony 8GB MP3 Walkman.

Malaysia Airports Senior General Manager, Commercial Services, Puan Faizah Khairuddin said: “The football season is an exciting period that everyone is looking forward to eagerly. Hence, together with our retail and F&B business partners, we have arranged a myriad of activities including sales promotions and even a gastronomic adventure for our visitors and travellers to complement the football season.
“Frequent travellers need not worry about missing out on the excitement of football as they can catch up on the latest scores at the various score boards available at the terminal, watch the exciting matches and even put to test their skills at the various games. This is all part of our effort to promote and enrich the airport experience for our visitors and travellers.”
