Actium displays brand-related art at the Duty Free Show of the Americas

The Actium booth in Orlando will feature a sculpture by artist Eric Stephenson

Actium, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2014, has set up an art gallery in the central walkway of the Orlando World Center Marriott, where it is exhibiting at the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas this week (stand number: 413).

The display showcases art pieces made with materials from the array of brands represented by the Miami-based luxury goods distributor in the Americas, as well as pieces by established artists such as Eric Stephenson.

“We wanted to come up with a different concept to set our products forward in a sophisticated environment and with a focus on the raw materials,” explained Actium Director Daniela Flores.

“Come to the booth to discover the beauty of an oversized Hermes hand-made tapestry or a triptych made with Lancôme eye shadow,” she added.

The company’s presence at the Orlando show underlines its commitment to the Latin America region, where it is a major player for distribution, both in the local market and in travel retail.

Since its creation in 2004, Actium has developed a positive track record for brand management and optimising, with a focus on few leading brands in vast territories through independent categories, the company said.

Actium was established initially with a Beverages division, with a portfolio that included spirits (Whyte & Mackay brands: The Dalmore, Whyte & Mackay, Jura Whisky and John Barr; Grand Marnier; Svedka), Champagne (Laurent Perrier), wine (Casa Silva and Grand Chais de France), and bottled water (Voss).

In 2006, the company created a Beauty & Fragrances division comprising Hermès Parfums, Puig fragrances, L’Oreal Luxury, L’Oreal Paris, and The Body Shop. Two years later, the Fashion & Accessories division was formed with the Tumi and Lancel brands.

In 2008 the Retail division was created in a joint venture with Panama-based Saint Honoré, and Actium became the sole partner for Hermès in Panama and Chile. In 2013 a new partnership was announced for the Michael Kors store at Chile Airport, with several other high-end brands joining the Actium-Saint Honoré portfolio.
