AUSTRALIA. Aelia Duty Free has arrived in Australia.
LS travel retail Pacific joined with Adelaide Airport (AAL) for the launch of its Aelia stores yesterday evening, while unveiling its Link news and convenience concept and celebrating other developments.
Lagardère Services Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dag Rasmussen and AAL Managing Director Mark Young cut the ribbon to pronounce Aelia Duty Free officially open.
Guests were then free to roam Aelia’s 400sq m walk-through Departures store; a 150sq m Arrivals walk-through and a redeveloped 62sq m landside store are also in place.

LS travel retail consolidates its presence at Adelaide Airport with the opening of Aelia Duty Free, Victoria’s Secret and tech2go all in the same space |
Welcoming guests (including The Moodie Report) to the event, LS travel retail Pacific General Manager – Duty Free Ivo Favotto pointed to several key events.
“Tonight we celebrate the opening of Aelia Duty Free, Victoria’s Secret and tech2go stores at Adelaide Airport, the redevelopment of the Icons South Australia store, and the watershed opening of our new Link store concept.”
LS travel retail Pacific brought Aelia Duty Free to Queenstown Airport last July, but Adelaide marks its first entry to Australia.
The late March opening of Adelaide’s Victoria’s Secret beauty and accessories store represents the LS group’s second airport location with the brand worldwide, and its debut in South Australia.
The tech2go electronics and accessories store has just opened landside, replacing a Bijoux Terner store.
Icons South Australia has both a refreshed landside store and a prominent corner in the main Aelia Duty Free Departures store that showcases local food brands like Haigh’s chocolates and the region’s well-known winemakers.
Link repositions the Newslink news and books store as a travel essentials offer featuring snack foods and necessities alongside print products, with a warm orange-coloured theming and fittings that can easily be adapted to meet changing customer needs.

Mark Young thanked LS travel retail Pacific for its commitment to Adelaide Airport. “LS travel retail is among our largest tenants with ten stores and 1,700sq m of floor area, and it is pleasing to have such a strong retail partner that is willing to invest in revitalising their stores and is keen to try new ideas.”
Adelaide Airport is the fastest-growing airport in Australia, Young remarked, with double-digit growth in international traffic.
Dag Rasmussen commented that the event was an important milestone for Lagardère Services worldwide: “We have a long-term commitment to this region, to Australia and to Adelaide. We are happy to be here as a close partner with Adelaide Airport.
“LS travel retail relies on our local teams and local innovation, and tonight we are celebrating stores like tech2go that were born here.”
Aelia Duty Free has enabled the group to bring new, global brands to the airport, he added.
LS travel retail Pacific Chief Executive Officer Matthieu Mercier complimented airport management, suppliers and his team for the array of new offerings at Adelaide. “There has been a really close collaboration between Adelaide Airport and our staff, with the fantastic support of our vendors.”
LS travel retail Pacific will be extending its new store concepts at other Australasian locations in the coming months.
