La Prairie skincare sparkles with new Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal duo

The new Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Emulsion

La Prairie has extended its anti-ageing Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Collection, introduced last year, with two new products. Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Eye Cream and Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Emulsion are being introduced to travel retail this month.

The recommended retail price-point for Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Eye Cream is US$212 for 20ml. Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Emulsion is priced at US$286 for 50ml.

As previously reported, the inspiration for the original products came from two seemingly fragile plants and one small algae, which manage to grow and flourish miles high in the Swiss Alps. La Prairie claims to have harnessed their extreme survival secrets to create the patent-pending Swiss Ice Crystal Complex, which transfers the properties of its key ingredients to the skin, allowing it to become more resilient to the daily extremes of life, such as stress, anxiety, pollution, lack of sleep and travel.

The new products harness the qualities of another ‘extremophile’ plant, Saponaria Pumila, which is said to introduce a new level of potency by enhancing the skin’s protective mechanisms that guard against damage. This in turn delays the first signs of ageing and youthful skin is replenished, La Prairie maintains.

In addition, the new eye cream incorporates a Tissue Guidance Matrix, which helps promote firmness and smoothes the look of wrinkles. White Bird of Paradise plant extract is also said to restore skin luminosity, promote an even skin tone and fight the look of under-eye dark circles.

The new emulsion formula includes vitamins C and E, for anti-oxidant protection, plus La Prairie’s exclusive Cellular Complex of ginseng root extract, horsetail extract and glycoproteins. This is complemented by a Coffea Bengalensis cultured stem cell extract, which has strong re-plumping, wrinkle filling and moisturising benefits.
