Salty and sweet: New Karl Fazer Salty Popcorn chocolate

Comment: World Duty Free Group Food & Confectionery Manager Ivanka Arija: “We are very pleased with the immediate popularity of the Karl Fazer Salty Popcorn chocolate amongst our customers at Helsinki Airport. Karl Fazer Salty Popcorn chocolate quickly reached the top ten bestselling chocolate products, which is quite an achievement for a novelty product. As sales were even better than we initially expected, we needed to react quickly and bring in extra stock.”

Fazer Confectionery International Director Miki Aho: “The share of confectionery sales in relation to total duty free sales is very high at Helsinki Airport compared to other airports in the world. Confectionery items are a top national delicacy in Finland, and the millions of Asian passengers who pass through Helsinki Airport on an annual basis are a major customer group for our delicious chocolates.

“Fazer is very pleased with the collaboration with WDFG. Working with WDFG in Helsinki has opened many opportunities for Fazer for further international cooperation. Even though Northern Europe remains our biggest market, our sales are increasing in Continental Europe and in Asia, as well as in the Middle East.”
