Capi goes extra-large with new Schiphol Airport Lounge 2 store

Capi has opened an “XL” store at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Lounge 2. The 280sq m shop is one of Capi’s largest and offers all eight of the company’s marketing concepts which include It’s Exclusive! and the Gifting Table.

The store features all Capi product categories, including personal care, health & beauty and a range of wearables such as smartwatches and activity trackers. Key factors in the store design were navigability and attractiveness to female travellers, said Capi.

Innovations include an Apple White shop-in-shop concept, said to be the first of its kind in the Netherlands, and a Samsung branded display featuring the Galaxy S6+ and the S6 Edge. The outlet also includes a Smart Home section, offering streaming solutions, virtual reality glasses and entertainment.

The It’s Exclusive! display features luxury items aimed at Chinese and Russian customers, while the centrally placed Gifting Table highlights a range of electronic items and accessories for all ages.

Many of Capi’s existing concepts and categories have been enlarged to offer new brands such as Philips and Braun healthcare and beauty products which are displayed on new “˜touch & feel’ tables. The Lounge 2 store also has a high-tech Connectivity table and a Digital Imaging section.

Capi says the new store will focus on customer experience and inspiration

Royal Capi-Lux Managing Director Peter Wiggers said: “Our Lounge 2 store is really about experience. We have tried to make the shop even more inspiring by using experience tables and large visuals that create an emotional connection with the products. As always, we focus on customer experience and inspiration. The balance between the use of floor space and wall displays works very well to create an attractive, easy-to-navigate shop that will appeal to travellers. Add to that the trendsetting presentations of innovative products by leading A brands and premium brands, I think this shop is another step forward for us.”

Capi said it plans to open three new outlets at Copenhagen Airport later this month.
