Tender tie-up: M1nd-set’s Business 1ntelligence Service partners with The Moodie Davitt Report

Peter Mohn: “This tool has only been available to the airline industry previously and is now available to the travel retail industry, exclusively through m1nd-set’s B1S”

INTERNATIONAL. The Moodie Davitt Report has entered into an exclusive agreement with Swiss travel retail research and analysis house m1nd-set to offer critical insights on airport commercial tenders.

The partnership involves m1ndset’s newly launched Business 1ntelligence Service (B1S), a unique air traffic forecasting tool developed with IATA and ARC’s ‘Direct Data Service’ (DDS) database.

That uniqueness stems from the DDS programme being built on travel agency sales data captured through ARC and IATA’s financial settlement systems and ticket sales contributed by participating airlines, according to m1nd-set Founder and CEO Peter Mohn.

DDS is able to estimate 100% of global airline sales data, including scheduled and charter flights and low cost airline traffic, and will even distinguish between travel classes.

“All the airlines are using this DDS data source from IATA and ARC to order planes, plan routes and so on,” Mohn said. “Boeing and Airbus use it as well, which says a lot. This tool has only been available to the airline industry previously and is now available to the travel retail industry, exclusively through m1nd-set’s B1S.”

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said: “We’re excited to work with Peter Mohn and his great new Business 1ntelligence Service, which offers a critical new dimension to our coverage of airport tenders* in particular and the travel retail channel in general.”

Under the terms of the new agreement, B1S will provide The Moodie Davitt Report readers with key and unique information about airports and commercial tenders (down to terminal level, and differentiating between total/domestic/international) passengers.
