Schiphol Plaza has introduced a vending machine to offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals called the Health Food Wall. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol says it is responding to the growing demand for healthy takeaway products.
The concept is a familiar one in the Netherlands, with snacks displayed behind glass doors in the food wall. Now, Schiphol is offering a healthy version of this concept.
There will be a wide variety of options to choose from and the machine will be stocked with six different meals that will change with the seasons. Because the vending machine is refrigerated, the meals stay fresh. All packaging, from the tray to the accompanying cutlery, will be made from biodegradable materials.
The Health Food Wall will be open 24/7 to provide passengers, employees and other visitors to Schiphol with a fast, health-conscious food option at all hours of the day and night.
With the arrival of the Health Food Wall and outlets such as De Verspillingsfabriek (as featured in the latest The Foodie eZine), Schiphol is home to a growing range of F&B outlets with a focus on healthy and responsible dining.
