‘Playground on the Runway’ takes shape as Airport Authority Hong Kong issues latest T2 F&B tender

HONG KONG, CHINA. Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has issued an invitation to tender for a Sit-down café concession at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) Terminal 2, one of a flurry of forthcoming commercial opportunities as the Hong Kong gateway’s second terminal extends its passenger services.

As reported, T2 was inaugurated on 22 May. In the phase 1 relocation, 15 regional and low-cost carriers have moved their check-in operations from T1.

Passengers currently check in and drop their bags at T2 before taking the driverless Automated People Mover to board flights in T1. The full T2 airside concourse and dedicated gates will open in 2027.

The closing date for this tender is 21 December at 16:00 hours (Hong Kong Time).
