CHINA/THAILAND. A total of 10,000 face masks donated by King Power International for those on the frontline combatting COVID-19 have arrived at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport.
The donation of the N95 masks to the Red Cross Society of China came after King Power International Group Assistant Chief Operating Officer Apichet Srivaddhanaprabha met at the Chinese Embassy in Thailand with Counsellor Hu Changzhi and Director of the Office Zeng Zhi.
“China’s epidemic has affected the hearts of people around the world,” Srivaddhanaprabha said. “Multinational companies and charitable organisations have an obligation to work together to support the Chinese government in fighting the virus and slowing down the spread of COVID-19.”
The donation of the masks is the latest act of solidarity by the Thai retailer. It recently released a video featuring both Thai superstars and first-team players for Leicester City voicing their support for China, with many saying the refrain: “Come on China, come on Wuhan.”
As reported, King Power International, Thailand’s leading travel retailer, has issued a statement emphasising that its shops are fully safe and open for business for travellers from China and beyond.
