In a pioneering move, Taipei-based travel retailer Ever Rich Duty Free has released a single exclusive digital set of the Year of the Tiger Chinese Imperial jade seal Kaoliang liquor* on OpenSea, the world’s largest NFT trading platform.
“COVID-19 has accelerated the development of the digital age, and the NFT (non-fungible token) trend has swept the world,” the company said. “This business model of authenticating digital artwork and connecting consumption behaviour is a new attempt and breakthrough from Ever Rich, as well as showing the innovative spirit of the [Kaoliang] brand.”
Ever Rich noted that every year since 2015 this limited-edition, high-quality quality Kaoliang collection has been snapped up an eager public.

In order to create a unique shopping experience, Ever Rich has released the authenticating digital artwork, which draws on the Chinese characters for ‘liquor’ to draw a tiger on OpenSea for bidding.
The artwork is a unique file and buyers not only have the rights to display the digital artwork but also earn the right to purchase the limited-edition Year of the Tiger Kaoliang, as well as an NTD80,000 (US$2,876) Ever Rich shopping voucher. This was offered from 10 February at a starting price of 0.01 ETH and sold out at 1.1635 ETH on 18 February.
*Kaoliang liquor is produced by Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Inc (Kinmen Distillery).
