Iga Swiatek wins Qatar Airways Group-backed tennis tournament in Doha

QATAR. Polish player Iga Swiatek won the Qatar TotalEnergies Open 2022 tennis tournament on Saturday, an event supported by Qatar Airways and Qatar Duty Free (QDF) as Official Airline and Official Retail Sponsor respectively.

In the 20th edition of the prestigious tournament, Swiatek of Poland lifted the coveted Falcon Trophy after a 6-2, 6-0 victory against Anett Kontaveit at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex. The WTA 1000 event contested a 56-player singles draw that featured eight of the top ten WTA stars, including Aryna Sabalenka, Barbora Krejcikova and Paula Badosa.
