Swiss beauty brand Mavala has revealed its first range of bio-sourced nail polishes which are made of 85% natural-origin ingredients.
The new Mini Bio-Color collection comprises 12 opaque shades that have been enriched with fortifying silicone that care for fragile nails. It is now available in global travel retail.
Mavala’s Mini Bio-Color line foregoes the use of phytochemical solvents and opts for bio-sourced solvents which come from renewable farming resources. These solvents offer good fluidity and faster drying times without the harmful effects of chemical solvents.
Instead of resin, the nail polishes use wood pulp which form a protective film when drying to increase wear. It also uses corn and beetroot plasticisers which add shine and flexibility as well as crushed clay for colour homogeneity.
Since its founding in 1962, Mavala’s nail polishes have been using Nitrocellulose which offers enhanced permeability through natural means.
The new Mini collection includes 12 shades named after legendary rivers from across the globe. These are Rio Grande, Mississippi, Nile, Rhône, Volta, Thames, Colorado, Murray, Amazonas, Mekong, Shannon, and Indus.
The nail polishes do not contain any ingredients of animal origin, nor animal hairs for its brushes. Like all Mavala products, they are not tested on animals, regardless of the country of sale. The products are presented in a mini 5ml bottles with white caps.
Mavala claims to sell a mini bottle every six seconds globally. Its small, economical and waste-free formats have proven popular with nail polishes fans, as well as its ‘12-free’ formulas that provide long-lasting hold and shine without any harmful chemical additives.✈
