CHINA. Avolta has opened a Diptyque standalone store at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport Terminal 2. It offers the brand’s full product range in three categories: candles & home, fragrances, and bath & body.
The design of the 66sq m space in the domestic terminal takes inspiration from traditional Chinese aesthetics. It highlights a strong Sense of Place through carved designs, wooden tables and armoires.

Diptyque President – Mainland China, Hong Kong & Macao SARs Michael Wang said: “We are excited to announce the opening of Diptyque boutique in Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport Terminal 2. It is the second Diptyque boutique in China’s domestic travel retail after its first in Shenzhen Airport.
“Diptyque is a creator offering rich opportunities for poetic wanderings. Fusing reverie and reality, nature and art, Diptyque opens a window onto a timeless, fragrant, teeming world – a place where scents, dancing letters, captivating illustrations and motifs conjure beloved places and shared moments.
“We look forward to welcoming domestic and global audiences at the gateway of Shanghai city.”
Avolta General Manager Greater China Michael Wong commented: “In response to the growing demand for luxury fragrances in China, we are delighted to introduce Diptyque into Hongqiao Airport.
“We look forward to delivering a happy and memorable shopping experience for our travellers. We are pleased to be building a strong Trinity partnership between Diptyque, Hongqiao Airport and Avolta.”

Avolta has been a partner at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport since 2008. In July 2023, the retailer collaborated with The Estée Lauder Companies to open the La Mer beauty boutique at the airport. ![]()
