Patriotic positioning: Ghirardelli aligns its latest launch with the USA’s 250th anniversary, leveraging national pride and seasonal storytelling to drive engagement and conversion

Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, America’s longest continuously operating chocolate manufacturer, is unveiling a limited-edition ‘American Summer Series’ at the IAADFS Summit of the Americas (28-31 March).

The seasonal launch is timed ahead of the country’s 250th anniversary celebrations in 2026. It will be available for a limited period during the summer months.

The ‘star-spangled’ collection features an assortment of the brand’s milk chocolate varieties, presented in an American flag-inspired bag.

According to Ghiradelli, the launch taps into America’s top chocolate preference with milk chocolate accounting for 40% of total US consumption.

Designed for on-the-go gifting and snacking, the portable format and seasonal branding support visibility in-store, the company added.

“Ghirardelli has been crafting premium chocolate in San Francisco since 1852, and this collection honours our shared American heritage with flavours that evoke joy, tradition and celebration,” commented Ghirardelli Senior Sales Manager – GTR and Export Mohammed Aldahabi.

“We’re excited to bring this summer-exclusive treat to travel retail, where it’s poised to delight duty-free shoppers seeking exclusive, shareable indulgences.”
