UK. English drinks company Cotswolds Distillery has partnered with Avolta to unveil a limited-edition single malt exclusively at Birmingham Airport.
Priced at £99/US$131 (70cl), the single cask whisky is limited to just 275 individually numbered bottles.
Made exclusively with locally grown Cotswolds barley, the whisky was matured in a first-fill reconditioned red wine cask. It was filled on 20 April 2018 and aged on-site before bottling from cask number 2246 on 30 January at 61.9% ABV.

Housed in a premium display carton, the expression joins Cotswolds’ core range at the Avolta store in Birmingham Airport, alongside Single Malt Whisky, Reserve Single Malt Whisky and Dry Gin, all in one-litre formats.
The launch will be supported by in-store tastings and product displays throughout April.
Avolta Commercial Director UK Eve Fifer said: “We are proud to be the exclusive global travel retail partner for this single cask release from Cotswolds Distillery.
“Our customers at Birmingham Airport are always looking for something distinctive and memorable, and this limited-edition delivers exactly that.”
Cotswolds Distillery Commercial Director Kerrin Egalka added: “We are thrilled to partner with our longstanding supporters Avolta on the release of this exceptional single cask. There is huge momentum within the English whisky category and as the world’s best-selling English single malt whisky producer, we will continue to fuel this growth.”
Birmingham Airport Commercial Director Richard Gill commented: “We are delighted to be the sole stockist of the limited-edition single cask whisky exclusively created by our partners Cotswolds Distillery and available only in our World Duty Free store.
“We pride ourselves on partnering with local brands ensuring that customers can take a little bit of the Midlands with them when wherever they’re travelling to.”
