Lagardère Travel Retail builds German network with key openings in Frankfurt Airport T3

GERMANY. Lagardère Travel Retail has opened nine F&B concepts across ten locations and six new stores under the Relay travel essentials brand at Frankfurt Airport’s new Terminal 3, which is inaugurated today (22 April). The terminal opens to passenger flights from Thursday 23 April.

The travel retailer said it is “setting a strong signal for growth and underlining its position as one of the leading players at Frankfurt Airport”.

EL&N represents a trendy, Instagrammable addition to the F&B offer in the Non-Schengen airside space

The concept line-up includes Burger King with its latest design, plus the following exclusive premieres:

  • Neni Deli: A debut for the Levantine-Mediterranean cuisine concept in collaboration with the Molcho family;
  • EL&N London: The popular Instagram hotspot from London marks its first appearance at a German airport;
  • Main Bissen: Regional Frankfurt classics, interpreted in a contemporary and modern way;
  • Zigolini: Italian homemade pizza, focaccia and tramezzini;
  • Bread & Bite: Described as “a homage to the classic sandwich”, with freshly baked bread and seasonal ingredients.

The new offerings are complemented by Haferkater, Daily Deli, and Brezelmeister.

Six new stores build on an already strong Relay presence at Frankfurt Airport

Also in the new Terminal 3, six additional Relay stores have opened, with an assortment that ranges from press products and books to travel essentials, toys, souvenirs, coffee and other beverages, plus electronics and tobacco and vaping products.

Relay also offers daily fresh grab-and-go offerings from Neni Deli, Natoo and Manga Sushi. Self-checkout terminals are available for fast purchases.

With the opening of the six Relay shops, the company said it is further expanding its existing partnership as a long-standing retail and foodservice concessionaire at Frankfurt Airport.

“The opening today is a significant milestone and a true accolade for our team. As a long-standing partner of Frankfurt Airport, we are extremely proud of this strong collaboration. Our commitment was to go the extra mile for this special project and to offer our guests tailor-made concepts that will be remembered,” said Lagardère Travel Retail Germany Jochen Halfmann.

Lagardère Travel Retail Regional COO Europe Lucio Rossetto added, “We would like to warmly congratulate Fraport and our local team on the successful opening of Terminal 3, which marks an important milestone for Frankfurt Airport and for Lagardère Travel Retail.

“Germany remains one of the key driving markets for European travel retail, setting high standards in terms of innovation, passenger experience, and operational excellence. This project fully reflects the strength of our partnership with Fraport and our ability to deliver at scale in one of the most demanding and influential markets in the region.”

“Retail at Frankfurt Airport is far more than an additional offering for us,” said Fraport Executive Board Member responsible for the Retail and Real Estate segment Julia Kranenberg.

“Shopping, dining and services make a decisive contribution to the quality of stay and the passenger experience. Through a well-executed staging, they turn Terminal 3 into a place where passengers enjoy spending time. We are delighted to welcome Lagardère Travel Retail here as a strong foodservice partner.” ‍
