OMAN. In an appointment that underlines Oman Duty Free’s growing ambitions, the travel retailer has named the highly regarded Sayyid Nasr Al Busaidi as Chief Executive Officer.
Sayyid Nasr brings extensive experience in retail transformation and commercial leadership. He most recently served as executive director at Oman Airports subsidiary Transom Handling and earlier was Chief Postmaster General at Oman Post.
Oman Duty Free said the appointment augurs the start of a broader strategy to expand its retail footprint in Oman and explore opportunities in international markets.

Building on the Sultanate’s existing duty-free operations, ODF said its mandate extends beyond airport retail, with plans to strengthen its domestic retail offering while developing new business opportunities overseas.
“Oman Duty Free starts a new chapter for travel retail in the Sultanate and beyond,” Nasr commented. “Our ambition is to attract leading international brands, open up new opportunities for Omani businesses and develop services that strengthen Oman’s position as a destination and shopping hub.”
Under his leadership, ODF aims to enhance the shopping and customer experience, strengthen partnerships with international brands and service providers, and create new opportunities for Omani businesses, entrepreneurs and talent.
The company said its expansion plans are aligned with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, a government plan to support economic diversification, private sector growth and the development of the Sultanate as a regional destination for travel, retail and commerce. ✈
