The UK Travel Retail Consortium (TRC) is supporting #KickCancerThon, the global + local fundraising and visibility campaign for cancer research, with members preparing to take part in the Macmillan Cancer Support London Halloween Walk on 31 October.
The Consortium is encouraging the members and the wider global travel retail community to complete a collective distance of more than 100km. Participants will don Halloween costumes to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The organisation is inviting colleagues, friends, business partners and members of the wider travel retail community to support the challenge by making a donation. Funds raised will help Macmillan Cancer Support continue providing practical, emotional and financial assistance to people living with cancer.
Donations can be made via the team’s JustGiving page at Travel Retail Consortium JustGiving page.

Additional fundraising will take place during the TRC’s annual cocktail evening at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes. The event, kindly hosted by Heineken and taking place on Tuesday 29 September (by invitation only), will offer attendees the opportunity to donate to Macmillan Cancer Support while entering a prize draw.
“The challenge reflects the travel retail industry’s strong tradition of coming together for meaningful causes, with the Consortium aiming not only to reach the 100km milestone but also to raise as much money as possible for people affected by cancer,” commented TRC Chairperson Sharon Edwards-Smith.
“We’re looking forward to tackling the challenge together and having a little Halloween fun along the way. More importantly, we’re proud to be supporting #KickCancerThon in memory of Sinead while helping Macmillan continue its incredible work for people living with cancer and their families.”
#KickCancerThon (click here for recent updates) is the brainchild of the late Sinead Moodie, who was Chief Operating Officer for The Moodie Davitt Report at the time of the campaign’s launch.
The global and local #KickCancerThon campaign has brought together travel retail industry partners in support of cancer charities through a series of fundraising activities.
As revealed in her August 2025 Blog, Sinead was diagnosed last July with Stage 4 NUT Carcinoma Lung Cancer, a rare, ultra-aggressive variant of the disease. She subsequently underwent chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London.
Tragically, Sinead lost her battle for life on 1 February, the very day #KickCancerThon officially kicked off. The campaign continues in her honour.
