In Memoriam: Sinead Moodie, The Moodie Davitt Report Chief Operating Officer, mother, wife, daughter and industry inspirer

Sinead Moodie: A gentle, caring and wise wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend; a quiet, unassuming but marvellously efficient, hard-working and loved colleague. Rest in peace, dear Sinead.

WALES, UK. With an unmeasurable sense of loss, we announce the passing of Sinead Moodie, The Moodie Davitt Report Chief Operating Officer, daughter of our company’s Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie and sister of Head of Digital Delivery Declan Moodie.

She died peacefully yesterday (1 February) at Ty Olwen, Morriston Hospital, not far from her home in Ystradgynlais, South Wales.

Sinead was diagnosed in early July 2025 with Stage 4 Nut Carcinoma lung cancer, a rare and ultra-aggressive form of the disease.

Since then she has been treated with immense compassion and skill by the dedicated medical and care team at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London and various Welsh hospitals.

Sinead’s August Blog about her condition and her determination not to let this terrible diagnosis define her – “Cancer may not believe in karma, but I will make my own” – led to an astounding outpouring of support for her fight against the disease.

If you would like to support Sinead’s memory and chosen cause, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, we have created a dedicated #KickCancerThon page.

Sinead decided to tackle the horrid bully that is cancer by launching the #KickCancerThon*, a ‘global + local’ fundraising and visibility campaign for cancer research and treatment worldwide.

#KickCancerThon has attracted extraordinary support from the travel retail and aviation community with many activities having already taken place but now accelerating with the official launch yesterday (1 February), the same day as her passing.

In her memory, #KickCancerThon will continue throughout the weeks ahead. The Moodie Davitt Report team will be turning out in force at this week’s Trinity Forum in Doha (5-6 February) to support the cause and we will continue to bring you updates on the magnificent contributions from the travel retail and aviation communities.

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said, “A light has gone out in our family’s and company’s lives and those of all who knew Sinead.

“She was a gentle, caring and wise wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Sinead was also a quiet, unassuming but marvellously efficient, hard-working and loved colleague, always first in line to listen to or help others on the team or our business partners.

“I and we will miss her desperately. We are so inspired by her courage over recent months. Never once did she complain about the pain, discomfort and fear she went through but in classic Sinead style kept worrying about the impact of her illness and potential fate on others.

“She hung in time and again when the odds were stacked so unfairly against her but in the end she slipped gently into the night, out of suffering at last.

“We ask that the travel retail and aviation community continue their support for #KickCancerThon, a project that inspired Sinead to her final moment. In her name, let’s continue the fight against this blight named cancer that affects so many of us.”

Sinead is survived by her husband Adrian Miller, children Carys (5) and Iwan (3), father Martin and his wife Yu Lim, mother Sheraton, brothers Declan and Ali, sister Samira (Sami), niece Flora, father-in-law Terry, sister-in-law Naomi, sister-in-kind Helen and wider loving family.

We join the industry in sending our deepest condolences to the Moodie/Miller families. If you wish to pass on a comment to the family, please see the LinkedIn post below from Martin Moodie. Rest in peace, dearest Sinead. 💔

  • Our own chosen cause is The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity for which we have created a dedicated #KickCancerThon page.
