AUSTRALIA. Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) has announced car park pricing ahead of the commencement of passenger services on 25 October.
To mark the opening of Sydney’s new 24-hour international gateway, the airport is offering three hours of free parking for a limited time. The offer will be available to book online from 12 October for visits from 26 October, giving travellers an early opportunity to experience the new airport.
Drive-up parking rates at WSI start at A$15 (US$11) a day for long-stay parking, with saver rates from A$29 (US$21) and premium parking from A$49 (US$35) a day.
The launch drive-up rates will run from 25 October through April 2027, with further discounts available for online bookings and extended stays. Further details on parking options and bookings are available on the airport’s website.
WSI CEO Simon Hickey described the launch as an important milestone ahead of the airport’s first flights, with passengers set to benefit from “some terrific deals” on parking.
He said, “WSI is going to be a gamechanger for Greater Sydney, and we made the most of the unique opportunity to design and build a best-in-class airport from the ground up.
“We are thrilled to offer people the opportunity to come and experience their newest airport, free of charge, with three hours free parking from launch.
“The majority of passengers typically travel to and from the airport by car, so we’ve focused on delivering a great product that provides choice and flexibility for our customers. This means they’re in the driver’s seat and can select the option that best suits their needs.
“With two-thirds of Sydney’s population living within a 45-minute drive of WSI, and newly upgraded roads including the toll-free M12 providing efficient connectivity to the airport, we hope these launch offers will entice people to fly from WSI or just come for a visit to experience the brand-new terminal for themselves.”
Western Sydney International Airport’s precinct features more than 6,000 parking spaces across Premium (P1 and P2 covered), Saver (P2 uncovered) and Long-stay (P4). Passengers can also use a free 15-minute express zone for pick-ups and drop-offs.
Premium and Saver parking in P1 and P2 are just a two- to three-minute walk from the terminal, while Long-stay parking in P4 is served by a short, complimentary shuttle bus ride from the terminal.
WSI’s online booking system allows customers to register their licence plate in advance, with recognition technology enabling quick and easy entry to the car park.
The introduction of the pricing and booking options forms part of WSI’s integrated ground transport offering, giving travellers a range of convenient travel options, including public buses, taxis, ride-share services and on-site parking.
As reported, passengers will also have access to a range of car hire options from five rental agencies – Hertz, Avis, Budget, Europcar and Redspot – when flights take off in October. ✈
