For Nemiroff CEO Yuriy Sorochynskiy, the support of long-standing travel retail partners proved invaluable when Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
“A lot of our partners outside Ukraine immediately called us and asked, ‘How can we help you?’”
Speaking to The Moodie Davitt Report Managing Editor Ameesha Raizada at the TFWA World Exhibition, Sorochynskiy reflects on the challenges of maintaining production and international distribution during wartime, and the relationships that have helped the Ukrainian vodka producer keep moving forward.
“We managed to restart deliveries in mid-March,” he recalls, explaining how partners offered financial and logistical support at a time when domestic alcohol sales had been suspended. “This support helped us continue production.”

Despite the challenges of recent years, Nemiroff has maintained its international growth trajectory. Sorochynskiy says the company has recorded almost double-digit year-on-year growth in both volume and value across its export markets over the past five years.
The brand, whose history dates back to 1872, resumed and expanded its business with travel retail partners in 2023, introducing new products as it rebuilt momentum in the channel.
“We have a lot more in the pipeline,” Sorochynskiy says, noting that the company is giving its recent additions more time to establish themselves in the market.
The film also explores the progress of luxury expression LEX by Nemiroff, the brand’s longstanding partnership with Gebr. Heinemann, and how its sponsorship of three English Premier League football clubs is supporting wider international visibility. ✈
