Sunil Tuli joins Asian Fund for Cancer Research board

ASIA PACIFIC. The Asian Fund for Cancer Research Limited (AFCR) has appointed King Power Group Hong Kong Group CEO and Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association President Sunil Tuli to its Board of Directors.

In February, as part of the #KickCancerThon travel retail global cancer fund-raising and visibility campaign, Tuli raised more than HK$240,000 in support of AFCR’s cancer research mission by undertaking a challenging five-day trek to Mardi Himal in Nepal’s Annapurna region.

Sunil Tuli was named among Asian Fund for Cancer Research’s ‘Heroes of Hope’ for his fundraising efforts conducted as part of #KickCancerThon. Click here for the full story and other highlights from the #KickCancerThon campaign

#KickCancerThon was the brainchild of the late Sinead Moodie, who was The Moodie Davitt Report’s Chief Operating Officer and daughter of Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie. The campaign has grown into one of the biggest Corporate Social Responsibility projects in industry history.

Among Tuli’s other philanthropic contribution was a 2023 climb to Everest Base Camp in support of cleft charity Smile Train. He is also a member of the Philanthropic Board of that organisation.

Tuli said, “I am honoured to join an organisation dedicated to making a meaningful difference through cancer research. There is much for me to learn, and I look forward to working with the AFCR team and fellow Board members to broaden support for this important mission. It is an ambitious undertaking, but I believe that every contribution and every step forward counts.”

“We are delighted to welcome Sunil to the AFCR Board,” said AFCR Founder, President and CEO Dr. Sujuan Ba.

“What impressed me most about Sunil is not only his remarkable business experience and extensive international network, but also his genuine desire to make a difference.

“He has already demonstrated that commitment through his personal efforts to raise funds for cancer research. As AFCR enters its next chapter of growth, I look forward to working with Sunil to build stronger partnerships, inspire broader philanthropic participation, and accelerate promising discoveries and innovations that can bring new hope to cancer patients and their families.”
