UK. Lagardère Travel Retail UK & Ireland has secured a long-term contract to operate five stores covering nearly 750sq m at Bristol Airport, with openings phased from summer 2027.
The concession comprises three Relay stores co-branded with Waitrose & Partners, a Tech2Go outlet and a bookstore.

It spans airside and landside locations and forms part of the airport’s £400 million (US$536 million) transformation programme.
The award expands Lagardère Travel Retail’s UK & Ireland travel essentials network following Relay’s recent UK debut in London Heathrow Terminal 2.

It also extends the retailer’s partnership with Waitrose, bringing the British brand’s food-to-go offer to Bristol Airport for the first time, including sandwiches, wraps and salads.
The largest store will be a 362sq m Relay/Waitrose & Partners outlet in the departure lounge, offering books, news, snacks, souvenirs and food to go.

A 50sq m pre-gate kiosk will carry travel essentials and grab-and-go snacks, while a 145sq m landside store will serve arriving and departing passengers with news, magazines, travel essentials and food to go.
The departure lounge will also house a 67sq m Tech2Go store, featuring global technology brands and a demonstration zone, alongside a 109sq m bookstore offering bestsellers and new releases.

Lagardère Travel Retail UK & Ireland CEO Peter Newbould described the Bristol Airport partnership as a significant boost to the business and an important step in expanding its travel essentials network.
“Following our recent debut with Relay at Heathrow Terminal 2, this long-term contract gain demonstrates the strength of our proposition and the investment we are making in our capabilities and infrastructure,” he said.

Newbould highlighted Relay’s flexibility in adapting to different airports, passenger profiles and local requirements, supported by the brand’s global expertise.
“We look forward to working closely with Bristol Airport, building on our understanding of its ambitions and passengers’ expectations to deliver the right offer and experience.”

Bristol Airport Head of Retail Kate Gwyther said the combination of Relay and Waitrose would enhance the airport’s retail offer. The wider £400 million transformation will create a more spacious departure lounge, almost double the number of shops and restaurants and generate additional employment.
“We’re thrilled to be welcoming Lagardère Travel Retail to Bristol Airport. With Relay internationally recognised and Waitrose a much-loved British brand, this partnership will help form an elevated retail experience at the airport,” she commented. ✈
