The Travel Retail Consortium (TRC) has raised £12,774 for Macmillan Cancer Support following its participation in the Ultra Challenge Halloween Walk in London on 31 October.
As shared on LinkedIn, TRC members, family and colleagues completed the 10km route in Halloween costumes, raising £5,267. Former TRC Chair Richard Thorpe contributed a further £1,120 through his fundraising efforts, taking the combined total to £6,387.
The Consortium pledged to match the funds raised pound for pound, doubling the amount to £12,774.

Funds raised will help Macmillan Cancer Support continue providing practical, emotional and financial assistance to people living with cancer.
The initiative formed part of #KickCancerThon, the travel retail visibility and fundraising campaign for cancer research. #KickCancerThon is the brainchild of the late Sinead Moodie, who was The Moodie Davitt Report’s Chief Operating Officer at the time of the campaign’s announcement.

Travel Retail Consortium Chair Sharon Edwards-Smith commented, “We are absolutely delighted with the amount raised and incredibly proud of everyone who took part, donated and supported the initiative.
“It was fantastic to see TRC members, family and colleagues come together, embrace the Halloween spirit and get behind such a worthwhile cause. A special thank you to Richard Thorpe for his generous additional contribution.

“The TRC’s decision to match the funds raised means we have been able to double the impact of everyone’s efforts, and we are thrilled to be contributing £12,774 to Macmillan Cancer Support.”
The TRC thanked participants, donors, organisers and supporters for their contributions to the fundraising effort. ✈
