VIETNAM. In the culmination of one of Asia’s most ambitious mixed-use leisure developments, Vingroup will officially open the US$2.8 billion Phu Quoc United Center in the North of Pearl Island (Đảo Ngọc) on 21 April.
Spread over more than 1,000 hectares and featuring thousands of entertainment attractions in addition to a 24/7 resort and shopping ecosystem, Phu Quoc United Center is designed as Vietnam’s first ‘sleepless super complex’ and a “new international destination”, Vingroup said.
Phu Quoc United Center is developed under an “all-in-one” model, the company noted. It includes a system of hotel brands from Mini Hotels to 5-star names such as Vinpearl, VinOasis, VinHoliday and Radisson Blue, offering more than 10,000 rooms.
The Center also features VinWonders Phu Quoc – the largest theme park in Vietnam; Vinpearl Safari – one of the largest semi-wild animal conservation parks in Asia; the 18-hole Vinpearl Golf Course; the Corona 5-star Casino; Grand World sleepless shopping and entertainment city; Vinmec Hospital and much more.
The mixed-use ecosystem provides a range of experiences unprecedented in Vietnam, the company said. These include Grand World – ‘the Sleepless City’ – spread over 85 hectares. Grand World features “splendid and magnificent” architecture, trendy commercial streets, exciting festivals and parties in addition to bustling entertainment centres evoking Venice, Shanghai, Night Market, Kstreet and Vietnam.
All are operated non-stop, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in order to create a bustling atmosphere and the sense of an endless and dynamic festival space akin to other famous ‘sleepless cities’, Vingroup said.
Visitors to Grand World Phu Quoc will have the opportunity to enjoy spectacular entertainment technology anchored by a multimedia scene show named ‘The Elite of Vietnam’. They can also discover the country’s largest ‘Bamboo Legend’ made from 32,000 bamboo tops; and for the young (and young at heart), visit the Teddy Bear museum.
“Phu Quoc United Center will not be merely an entertainment complex but a top resort/business/investment luxury product in Vietnam. The ‘Sleepless City’ model in Phu Quoc United Center… marks a step forward, turning Vietnam into a new international destination on the world tourist map.”
Visitors can travel along a Venice-modeled canal, see a replica of the ancient Venice Clock Tower, immerse themselves in a 19,500msq m-wide Marine Square, and admire unique contemporary artworks at Urban Park.
Grand World will also feature a year-round programme of parties and festivals, ranging from local events such as Nghinh Ong Festival, Nguyen Trung Truc Festival, and the Boat Racing Festival to vibrant carnivals from Thailand, India, America, Germany, Mexico and elsewhere.
The expansive facility will feature the first 5-star casino open to Vietnamese people. The Corona Casino will offer 1,000 slot machines and 100 game tables and be integrated with a 600-seat theatre.
The ‘Sleepless City’ is connected to ‘boredom-free land’ – VinWonders Phu Quoc – which was opened in April 2020. It features the largest theme park in Southeast Asia covering 55 hectares and offering more than 100 games and shows.
Another integral component of Phu Quoc United Center is Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc, Southeast Asia’s largest semi-wild animal conservation park. Home to more than 4,000 animals from nearly 200 species drawn from all geo-biological regions of the world and based on a ‘free animals, captive people’ model, it has become a ‘must-visit’ destination on the Phu Quoc tourist map right since its opening in 2015, Vingroup claimed. Its animal welfare conditions are rated as the best in the region and are in line with world standards set by the South East Asian Zoos Association.
In addition, the super complex also owns a 5-star Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Events (MICE) system based at the Vinpearl Convention Center; and the Vinschool Inter-level School opening in the near future.
Vingroup concluded: “Phu Quoc United Center will not be merely an entertainment complex but a top resort/business/investment luxury product in Vietnam. The ‘Sleepless City’ model in Phu Quoc United Center… marks a step forward, turning Vietnam into a new international destination on the world tourist map.”
