Aena Group passenger traffic climbs +3.5% in June

SPAIN. Aena Group airports in Spain, Brazil and UK served just under 190 million passengers in the first six months of 2026, a rise of +3.9% year-on-year. In June the figure reached 37 million passengers, up +3.5% year-on-year.

In the main Spanish network of 46 airports and two heliports, traffic numbers hit 156.2 million in the half, up by +3.7% on a year earlier, though this represented a lower rate of growth than in 2025 compared to 2024 (+4.5%).

Madrid-Barajas Airport topped 6 million passengers in June as the peak summer season began strongly

Airports in the Aena network in Spain served 31.6 million passengers in June, +3.8% more than in the same month in 2025.

At just over 6 million passengers, Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas recorded the highest number of passengers of any Spanish airport in June, representing a rise of +4.5% compared to the same month last year. It was followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 5.4 million (+3.2% compared with 2025); Palma de Mallorca, with 4.3 million (+1.6%); Málaga-Costa del Sol at 2.8 million (+5.3%); Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, with 2.1 million (+10.5%); Ibiza with 1.3 million (+3.2%); Gran Canaria with 1.2 million (+0.4%) and Valencia, with 1.17 million (+8.8%).

The 17 airports under Aena Brasil reached 3.6 million passengers in June, -1.9% down year-on-year, though volumes grew +4.1% in the six months to 22.8 million.

London Luton Airport served 1.76 million passengers in the month, up by +9.6% year-on-year, with 8.8 million in the first half, up +5.1%.
