US. Earlier this quarter Aerin Lauder travelled to Houston in Texas to accept the Anne Morrow Lindbergh Award for Living With Grace and Distinction on behalf of her late grandmother, cosmetics maven Estée Lauder.
The Award was presented posthumously for Mrs Lauder’s many contributions to humanity through her approach to business, family and charity.
Created in 1997, the Anne Morrow Lindbergh Award for Living With Grace and Distinction was established in honour of Anne Morrow Lindbergh for her sense of dedication, commitment and tremendous courage in the face of adversity.
The award is given annually to a nationally or internationally recognised woman who has made major humanitarian contributions and has lived her life with grace, distinction and dignity.
Past recipients of the award include former US First Lady Barbara Bush, Empress Farah Pahlavi, Marilu Henner, Rue McClanahan, Debbie Reynolds, Phyllis Newman, Countess Patricia Mountbatten, Jehan Sadat and Liz Carpenter.
The sold-out awards luncheon was held at the exclusive River Oaks Country Club in Houston and helped to raise funds for the Huffington Center on Aging at the Baylor College of Medicine.
In other news, during the visit to Texas Aerin Lauder took part in personal appearances at Neiman Marcus Northpark in Dallas and Neiman Marcus at the Galleria in order to promote her new fragrance, Private Collection.
