The new-look Silver Diner at Baltimore/Washington International Airport

USA. Airmall USA, operator of the Airmall at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall), has completed a major renovation of the Silver Diner restaurant. Airmall said that at 7,508sq ft, it is now one of the largest airport restaurants in the USA.

“Since opening this airport location in 2007, Silver Diner has been an incredibly popular dining option for travellers at BWI Marshall,” said Airmall Maryland Vice President Brett Kelly.

“Silver Diner brings their success on the street to the airport by providing a wide variety of quality, local food, expertly prepared at a great price. The new location looks fantastic and we are very happy that even more airport customers can now enjoy this Maryland favourite.”

The renovations to Silver Diner were part of a US$15-million upgrade to the concessions programme at BWI Marshall, which occurs over the next two years. The project will create more than 18,000sq ft of additional retail space at BWI Marshall and is part of an overall airport construction programme that includes the creation of a new connector between concourses B and C. The expanded Silver Diner patio seating area is located along this new B/C connector and offers airfield views.

Silver Diner is a Maryland original known for its signature farm-to-table fare. The restaurant serves healthy selections, along with all-day breakfast, burgers and milkshakes.

Silver Diner recently won Best Airport Restaurant Design in the ARN 2013 Airport and Concessionaire Awards.
