Airport Authority Hong Kong multiple category, 14-unit luxury zone tender set to close

HONG KONG, CHINA. Airport Authority Hong Kong’s tender for 14 units in Hong Kong International Airport’s (HKIA) luxury zone, one of the year’s most important airport retail bids, closes on 5 April (2.30pm local time).

The tender (first advertised on the home page of The Moodie Davitt Report.com*) embraces opportunities across several luxury categories including fashion, watches & jewellery, shoes, fine food, and any other luxury concept of a bidder’s choice.

The winning concepts will join an acclaimed and extensive zone currently housing 40 top-tier luxury brands across different categories

Four of the five categories out to bid involve five-year terms with luxury fine-food being a three-year contract.

Unit sizes range from 366sq ft to 1,507sq ft. Existing brands in the zone are allowed to tender for neighbouring units for expansion.

Each brand can only be represented by one tenderer – either the brand owner or an authorised retailer.

As reported, Airport Authority Hong Kong said it is targeting to add strong luxury brands to further enrich HKIA’s luxury retail offering.

Based on a commitment to upgrade its facilities and services to create a fresh and compelling travel experience, the airport company completed the refurbishment of the East Hall Luxury Zone in 2021.

It houses three new duplex flagship stores – Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, together with a diverse line-up of luxury brands reopened at the time.

Airport Authority Hong Kong Executive Director, Commercial Cissy Chan said: “We look forward to further strengthening our luxury retail offerings in HKIA to better serve passengers’ needs and elevate their experience in our airport.” ✈
