Airport International Group sponsors Umrah pilgrimage for orphaned youth

JORDAN. Airport International Group (AIG) – the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) – has provided 59 young beneficiaries and supervisors from the Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans with the opportunity to perform Umrah pilgrimage between 24-27 April 2013.

This initiative stemmed from AIG’s identity which is rooted in the Jordanian traits of generosity, hospitality and solidarity. It is also in line with the company’s dedication to supporting local non-profit humanitarian organisations.

“Our sense of responsibility towards, and close kinship with, our local community prompts us to actively carry out social development initiatives in Jordan,” said Airport International Group CEO Kjeld Binger. “We’re very pleased that we were able to facilitate the Umrah trip for Al-Aman Fund’s beneficiaries, all of whom were carefully selected in coordination with relevant parties. We hope that they receive fond memories from this experience.”

Al-Aman Fund’s Executive Director Maha Al Saqqa stated: “I’d like to thank AIG for this gesture which left a positive mark on our participating youth, who in their own right are exemplary models of willpower and self-reliance. We look forward to seeing other local organisations follow in AIG’s footsteps by helping us expand the scope of our operations and support orphans in realising their dreams and securing a better future for themselves.”

Fifty-nine young beneficiaries and supervisors from the Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans were given the chance to perform Umrah pilgrimage thanks to AIG
