SWITZERLAND. Zurich Airport retail and dining turnover reached CHF370.1 million (US$455 million) in the first seven months of 2026, a rise of +3.4% year-on-year.
Airside sales climbed by +8.5% with landside sales down by -3.7% compared to the same period in 2025. However, the landside sales performance can be explained by store closures related to a programme of renovations that will continue over the next 18 months. That project was covered in detail in an on location feature we published in late 2025; click here for more.
The rise in airside sales outstripped +5% passenger traffic growth in the seven-month period, with the figure reaching 19.1 million.

Airside spend per departing passenger climbed +3.3% to reach CHF23.70 (US$29.14) in the period.
In July, commercial turnover reached CHF63.2 million (US$77.7 million), up +1.2% year-on-year, with strong airside sales (+5.9%) and landside business (-6.3%) affected by the ambitious programme of work noted above. Passenger traffic climbed by +2.4% year-on-year in July to 3.3 million. ✈
