SRI LANKA. As part of its employee training drive, Alpha Orient Lanka is to enroll 25 of its staff on a new Diploma course in International Retailing which is offered by City & Guilds in South Asia.
The course has been designed for people currently undergoing training or already in employment within the retail sector. It is intended to enhance professionalism within retail business operations and aims to reflect the knowledge and skills required for work within the retail industry.
The course syllabus covers customer contact, product knowledge and handling, customer payments, product display, stock control & security, health, safety & law, and communication & information technology.
Alpha Orient Lanka’s students were selected via interview for the four-month course, which they will attend one day per week alongside on-the-job practice and assessment. The course begins today, 1 February.
